Help & Common Questions
Have questions about our pure raw honey, solar-powered harvesting, or agricultural hive partnerships? Find clear, direct answers below or reach out to our Mayagüez team.
Raw Honey & Apiary Practices
Our honey is 100% pure, unheated, and unfiltered, harvested directly from our apiaries in the lush tropical hills of Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. Unlike industrial brands that blend imported syrups or ultra-pasteurize honey—destroying delicate enzymes and wildflower pollen—BuenoBee preserves living enzymes, natural antioxidants, and authentic Puerto Rican flora notes.
Sustainability is fundamental to BuenoBee. All of our honey uncapping, gentle spinning, bottling, and workshop machinery are powered entirely by on-site solar photovoltaic panels with battery storage. We operate with zero grid emissions and zero waste.
Crystallization is the hallmark of real, raw, unprocessed honey! Over time, natural glucose molecules bond together around microscopic pollen grains. If you prefer a liquid consistency, simply place your closed glass jar in a warm water bath (around 105°F / 40°C) until liquid again. Never microwave raw honey, as intense heat degrades its beneficial enzymes.
No. In accordance with American Academy of Pediatrics and CDC guidelines, raw honey should never be given to infants under one year of age, as their developing digestive systems cannot safely process naturally occurring spores.

Services, Pollination & Farm Partnerships
Hive Hosting allows agro-ecological farms, private estates, nature preserves, and eco-resorts across Western Puerto Rico to host full BuenoBee colonies on their land. Our certified master beekeepers perform all ongoing colony inspections, disease management, and swarm control while your crops benefit from intensive pollination.
Puerto Rican crops like coffee, passion fruit (parcha), avocado, mango, and citrus rely heavily on cross-pollination. Colonies managed by BuenoBee increase fruit set, uniform size, and overall harvests by up to 30% to 40% compared to unpollinated plots.
Yes! We offer small-group educational eco-tours by appointment. Visitors suit up in protective beekeeper gear, inspect a live observation hive, learn about gentle Caribbean honey bee genetics, and enjoy a curated tasting of raw honey straight from the comb.
